GLOBIO Launches New Organizational Website: Greater educator opportunities
PORTLAND, Oregon – The new Organizational website has been completely revamped to offer an easier user-friendly interface, more direct access to key departments, new Donate access, and GLOBIO’s effort to involve teachers, home-schoolers and educators more directly and actively. GLOBIO Introduces Glossopedia Version 1.5: New search functionality
PORTLAND, Oregon – Glossopedia Version 1.5 is now available to children and educators. This latest version introduces new home page search functionality, including the ability to search all articles—Everything—in alphabetical order by graphic icons. The improved search functionality is vital to the V2.0 that will launch on Sept 1st, 2007, which will double the content available in Glossopedia.

Porter Foundation Renews Education Support: PORTLAND, Oregon – The Porter Foundation has generously renewed its support of GLOBIO’s education development with an increase in funding to $6,000 for FY2008.  The funding will be directed at further expansion of the Learning Activities Guide (LAGs) in the new educators section of the GLOBIO organizational website.  LAG testing and evaluation will occur in USA schools through November 2007.

Keith Crisco Joins GLOBIO Board of Directors:  PORTLAND, Oregon – GLOBIO Board of Directors voted Keith Crisco, President of Asheboro Elastics, of Asheboro, North Carolina, USA, as its ninth board member during its quarterly board meeting.  Mr. Crisco brings enormous board and business experience to GLOBIO.  A former White House Fellow and Harvard Business School alum, Mr. Crisco will play an instrumental role in GLOBIO’s business revenue growth.

GLOBIO Begins New Wolong Education Project: Expanding Hands-on Access to the World. WOLONG, China – GLOBIO executive director Gerry Ellis met with teachers from the Geng da and Sha Wan Primary schools of Wolong Nature Reserve to work out details of a new field trip project that will enable fifth graders from the remote valley to explore the world, hands-on, beyond the boundaries of the Reserve.  Details about the project workings will be finalized over the next six months with May 2008 targeted for the initial field trip. Private donor funding will ensure the success of the project through 2010.

GLOBIO and Ranger Rick Create New Partnership in Education:  PORTLAND, Oregon – August 20th GLOBIO and National Wildlife Federation offer kids a new way to discover the world. From the pages of the award-winning Ranger Rick magazine kids will find links in each issue that direct them online to the Glossopedia, and articles on the same subjects. From mice to moose, and rainbows to chocolate, kids will now have twice as many opportunities to discover, learn and share the world around them. The partnership is the first for both organizations and will reach over 1.2 million kid a month. GLOBIO will also offer subscriptions to Ranger Rick with a portion of the proceeds supporting greater development of Glossopedia content.
